ESTATE MANAGER

THE SPETCHLEY ESTATE

WORCESTER

A wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic and commercially driven Estate Manager.

The successful applicant will have day to day responsibility for the 4,000-acre rural estate, delivering an exciting and comprehensive strategy whilst reporting into the owner based at Spetchley and the Estate Director who works between Berkeley and Spetchley, alongside the support of a larger team.

The Estate comprises 54 houses, 5 let farms, a commercial property portfolio, contract farming operation, family shoot and in-hand park. At the centre of the Estate is Spetchley Park, a Georgian mansion house surrounded by 30 acres of historic gardens under the stewardship of a Charitable Trust. The gardens attract 20,000 visitors annually.

The current Estate Manager has achieved significant positive change in the past six years which must be built on to continue to move the Estate forward. There are various schemes and projects underway which need detailed management. Alongside this there are further opportunities available in the development of redundant farmsteads and other projects, which will take the Estate businesses forward in line with the Family and Trustees’ objectives.

The successful applicant will have experience in Estate Management, either on an estate or within a firm. They will ideally be RICS qualified. Experience of agricultural, residential, and commercial tenancies and knowledge of tenancy law will be essential as is the ability to effectively manage and motivate a small team, knowledge of relevant environmental schemes, excellent interpersonal communications and a proven project management record.

A competitive package dependant on experience, with estate accommodation if required, car allowance and a wonderful place to work.
